BOTNEK could arguably be seen as the kings of the up-and-coming generation of electro-house brilliance, a title that seems even more deserved upon the release of their newest single “I Know”.

Almost six minutes of infectiously bouncy BPM, “I Know” is catchy and lively without being too convoluted or overwhelming. “I Know” proves to be a refreshing refrain and serves as a reminder that BOTNEK is ruling this house of dance.

As you know our beautiful city has been completely ravaged by floods and though we are a tough group and take good care of each other, help and love is always welcome. Our friends at Calgary Municipal Land Corporation have teamed up with HUGS, please read their call to action and help if you can. Even the smallest of gestures can make a huge difference in someone's life.

Call to action to our East Village fans & supporters:

We don’t know when we’ll need you to volunteer for our community, but we will.

We don’t know when we’ll be able to collect donations for our residents, but we will.

We will need care packages, welcome home kits and plenty of man power to assemble them.

We are still under evacuation, we still do not have electricity, nor do we know when our residents will be able to return.

For those of you wondering how you can help, What we DO need from you right now are HUGS!

PLEASE write letters, cards, paint pictures and drop a sweet little “hug” into the mail that we can give to our 1200+ East Village residents, many of whom are seniors, when they return.

Let them know you’re thinking about them, sending them well wishes and that they are missed.

Help impacted flood victims, have you children, your school, church & community groups, and friends & family from all over the world send our seniors some hugs.

We will be collecting these cards and thoughtful notes and distributing them in our care packages when our residents are able to return to their homes.

Please send to:

worlds collide

Our thunder from down under, Nick Thayer (don't worry, I hate myself more than you could imagine for calling him that) has released his second EP on Skrillex's label Owsla today and it does NOT disappoint. Have a listen for yourself and buy the whole damn thing because it's almost festival season and that's the only reason you need.

Vancouver upstart Sleepy Tom has quickly proved himself a young master of all things massive. His hometown parties and DJ sets alongside some of electronic music’s biggest names have earned him a nationwide rep, and his internet incinerating bootlegs and official remixes (including an especially chunky take on Diplo’s “Set It Off”) can be heard everywhere from BBC radio to festival stages around the globe. Now with his first original release, The Currency, Sleepy Tom takes his taste for overdriven laser riffs, donk’d out kick drums, and all manner of speaker-zapping dance music to an even higher level of OOMPH. From the supercharged house of “Let It Go” to the title track’s rollercoaster-worthy buildups, The Currency is one debut that’s impossible to sleep on. Don’t let the kid’s name fool you!

Sleepy Tom has received support from Zeds Dead, Grandtheft, Style of Eye, Nadastrom, Knife Party, Showtek, Mat Zo, Clockwork, Torro Torro, A-Trak, Surkin, GTA, Lazy Rich, Felix Cartal, Autoerotique, Loudpvck, gLAdiator, UZ, Astronomar, BOT and more. The Currency is set for release on Fools Gold Records this Tuesday, May 28th.
